The international conference for Learner Corpus Research (LCR) is organised under the aegis of the Learner Corpus Association, which brings together researchers, language instructors and software developers with a common interest in the use of learner corpora for research on second language acquisition, as well as for the enhancement of language pedagogy and language assessment.

The conference takes place every two years, next one being LCR 2024 held at the University of Tartu (Estonia) at the Institute of Foreign Languages and Cultures and the Institute of Estonian and General Linguistics.

LCR 2024 in Tartu aims to provide a forum for discussion and presentation of latest research by offering LCA members and other researchers in the field of Learner Corpus research a chance to meet up, introduce their latest ideas and findings and establish new contacts, get novel perspectives and find new tools to enhance their research potential, as well as international cooperation.

As Estonia is a country that is home to a small non-Indo-European language, we find it fitting to champion corpus research involving learning of smaller languages and by learners with a small L1, as well as language learning in plurilingual settings. Nevertheless, researchers focusing on any languages, also the most researched ones are welcome as always.

LCR 2024 is the biennial conference of the Learner Corpus Association. Information on previous conferences and future events is available here. LCA Diversity Inclusion and Conduct statements are available for download here.
